Dr. H. Justin Harlow
Dr. H. Justin Harlow was born and raised on the south side of Atlanta in College Park, GA. Dr. Harlow earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in anthropology and human biology from Emory University. After graduating, he went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the age of 25 from the School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He refers to himself as an “expanded function general dentist” due to his appreciation for procedures like root canals, extractions, and cosmetic crowns. He has committed himself to staying at the forefront of dental technology and techniques by being an active member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Old North State Dental Society.
Passionate about giving back, he volunteers with the Missions of Mercy Clinic, gives career seminars to dental students at UNC-Chapel Hill, and mentors students at UNC and ECU dental schools through the Old North State mentoring program.
Dr. Harlow is also a committed public servant. In 2017, he was elected to the Charlotte City Council, representing District 2 on Charlotte's NW side. He is a the Chair of the Neighborhood Development committee which oversees public safety, housing and environmental initiatives for the City of Charlotte. He is also a member of the Economic Development. He served as President of the Biddleville-Smallwood Community Organization from 2015-2017, is a former member of the WestEnd Advisory Committee for Charlotte Center City Partners, and is a founding member of the 5 Points Community Collaborative – a group dedicated to promoting growth and development in the Five Points district of Charlotte's west side.
Dr. Harlow is a former board member and current Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In 2019, he was named to the Charlotte Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list to supplement his 2017 feature in Charlotte Agenda's 30 Under 30 award. Dr. Harlow has been honored to be featured in Who's Who in Black Charlotte in 2018 and 2019 and was highlighted in a book titled, Ten Men: Examining the Passion and Progress of Black Men on Charlotte's Historic West Side for his community work. He has also been honored with a STANDOUT Charlottean award for his community and professional work by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Dr. Harlow has been married to his wife, Kiara, since 2013. They enjoy spending time traveling, watching sports, and going to the movies. They have two children, Remington and Chandler.
Sthefany was born in Colombia, South America. She came to the US when she was 10 years old. Her parents came to the states seeking more opportunities and better quality of life. Sthefany became an assistant 6 years ago and her love for the dental field motivated her to further her education and become a Dental hygienist. In her spare time Sthefany loves spending time with her family and traveling. One of her favorite quotes is "The Lord is on my side I will not fear" Psalm 118:6
